Unable to get my smart ID

I applied for my smart ID at Home Affairs Mitchell's Plain on 5th February 2018.
It took a month, and several emails to hacc.dha.gov.za to get a reply regarding what has happened to my ID.
I finally received a reply in the beginning of March that my ID is now ready for collection at the branch.
Since I live abroad I contacted Ms Neliswa Tamte at Neliswa.Tamte@dha.gov.za
Who confirmed with me that a family member can collect it for me, however I need to submit a letter to her with a collection date that she will approve and then my ID can be collected.
It is almost April and I still hav8not received a confirmation email that my ID can be collected.
By the Tim I get an email it my ID probably would've been confiscated due to the incompetence and tardiness of DHA staff and I am extremely frustrated with the fact that no one replies to correspondence or even bothers to try to help with something that is so simple it would take seconds to fix.

And because something so simple cannot be fixed I would probably have to arrange time off from work and incur travel expenses again, simply because someone couldn't reply to an email in time.
This is not a complicated case, I cannot understand why it is so difficult to read a letter and send a confirmation email.

All I would like from this correspondence is just an email of approval for someone to collect my smart ID on my behalf as I will not be able to collect it myself because I live abroad.
Can someone please help me with this case.
